ACCRA, Ghana (17 December 2025) – Demonstrating community-led action, the Rotary Club of Accra Adjiringanor convened a crucial stakeholder meeting through its Rotary Community Corps initiative to address pressing safety concerns at Adjiringanor Basic School.
The forum brought together local leaders, including the Assembly Man, the Headmistress of the School, the Chair of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA), parents, residents, and Rotary members, in a collaborative dialogue. The focus was clear: to develop a sustainable strategy to combat crime and protect essential learning resources, ensuring the school remains a secure environment for education.
Club President Miss Juan Asase addressed the gathering, emphasising Rotary’s lasting partnership with the school. “Our Club is committed to supporting Adjiringanor Basic School’s development,” she stated. “However, true, lasting change is not a gift we deliver, but a goal we achieve together. We call upon every parent and resident to join hands with us in safeguarding our children’s future.”
The Headmistress, parents, and community members expressed profound gratitude for the Rotary Club’s consistent support over the past five years, emphasising how various projects have positively transformed teaching and learning. This history of partnership paved the way for a renewed, shared commitment. Community leaders and school authorities alike pledged to collaborate actively to eliminate security threats.
The meeting concluded with a strong agreement: safety is a shared responsibility. By strengthening the partnership between the Rotary Club and the Adjiringanor community, the initiative lays a foundation for collective ownership. This collaboration addresses immediate security concerns and paves the way for greater, more sustainable impact on the well-being and educational outcomes of the students.
This local initiative in Accra exemplifies the core Rotary spirit of community empowerment, demonstrating how Rotary Community Corps around the world are transforming concern into tangible, collaborative solutions.
