The Rotary Club of Wa has inducted Professor Hamidatu Dramaani, Vice-Chancellor of Dr. Hilla Limann Technical University (DHLTU), as one of its members.

The induction ceremony, held on Friday, 7 November 2025, at the Nuoyong Hotel in Wa, was part of a two-day official visit by the District Governor, Rotarian Nana Yaa Pokua Siriboe, to the Upper West Region. Professor Dramaani was among five new members who took the Rotary oath of service and fellowship during the event.

In her address, Rotarian Nana Yaa Pokua Siriboe urged the new inductees to adopt the Rotary spirit of commitment, dedication, and selfless service to humanity. She reaffirmed the organisation’s guiding principle of ‘Service Above Self,’ emphasising that both financial and voluntary contributions by Rotarians have continually transformed lives, especially in underprivileged communities both within and beyond the region.

The District Governor emphasised Rotary International’s humanitarian interventions, citing the global fight against polio and several community development projects as examples of the organisation’s longstanding impact. She urged both members and non-members to actively support initiatives that empower vulnerable groups, particularly women and children.

Speaking on behalf of the inducted members, Professor Hamidatu Dramaani conveyed deep gratitude to the leadership of the Rotary Club of Wa and the District Governor for the honour bestowed upon them. She committed herself wholeheartedly to furthering the goals of Rotary and making meaningful contributions to community development initiatives championed by the organisation.

The event was attended by club members, invited guests, and regional dignitaries, marking yet another milestone in the Rotary Club of Wa’s mission to promote humanitarian service and professional fellowship.
