DG Florence Christina Maame Hagan Begins Her Official Visit to Rotary Club of Wa

It was a beautiful Sunday morning as District Governor (DG) Florence Christina Maame Hagan embarked on her official visit to Wa in the company of District Governor-Elect Nana Yaa Siriboe, Assistant Governor Andrews, District Treasurer Kojo, and District Secretary Linda.

After a 1-hour, 25-minute flight, DG Maame was warmly welcomed at Wa Airport by a delegation led by Rotary President RP Zak. The team also included Immediate Past President Agams and four other Rotarians.

WASH Project Inspection at Eremon SHS
DG Maame’s first stop was the Eremon Senior High Technical School, located a 1-hour, 15-minute drive from Wa. There, she inspected a 10-seater WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) project, a collaborative effort between the Rotary Club of Wa and its international partners.

During the visit, DG Maame engaged in meaningful discussions with the school administration and the Girls’ Prefect, who pledged their commitment to maintaining the facility for the lasting benefit of students.

Engagement with the Rotary Club of Wa
Upon returning to Wa, DG Maame met with the Board of Directors of the Rotary Club of Wa, followed by a gathering with the entire club, including Rotaractors and Interactors. She articulated her vision for the district, expressed confidence in the club’s potential for growth, and urged members to generously support the Rotary Foundation to drive impactful service projects.

Day 1 Highlights:
Active Participation: DG Maame showcased her hands-on leadership by assisting in mixing mortar at the WASH project site, demonstrating her commitment and inspiring the team.
Community Connection: Her enthusiastic interactions with the “people of action” in Wa fostered motivation and unity within the club.

Day 2 Preview:
DG Maame will visit the Wa School for the Blind to inspect impactful projects funded by the District Grant.

Return to Accra:
DG Maame concluded her visit on December 16, 2024, with her return flight to Accra
