BRIDGING COMMUNITIES: ROTARY CLUBS IN SOUTH-EASTERN GHANA UNITE TO “END POLIO NOW”

Seven Rotary Clubs in South-eastern Ghana have sponsored a 92-foot by 5-foot banner on the busy ECOWAS transnational overhead bridge in Tema, Ghana. The banner serves as a daily reminder to thousands of commuters that the fight against polio is ongoing and provides donation channels to help fund vaccine efforts to eradicate the disease.

The banner proudly bearing “End Polio Now” and the enduring message “Together, We End Polio” showcases the unity and determination of Rotarians worldwide.

The unveiling of the banner was part of the inaugural “End Polio Now” 10-kilometre Walk organised by Rotary District 9104 Cluster 4 clubs, including the Rotary Clubs of Akosombo-Dam City, Tema, Tema Community 25, Tema Meridian, Tema Sunshine, Ho, and Hohoe, to commemorate World Polio Day 2025.

The walk with over 100 Rotarians drew strong community engagement and served as a compelling call to action for ongoing awareness, vaccination, and backing until polio is completely eradicated.
