ROTARY CLUB OF ACCRA–TESHIE NUNGUA BRINGS HOPE AND MOBILITY TO MEPHIBOSHETH TRAINING CENTRE
The Rotary Club of Accra–Teshie Nungua, together with other sister clubs and partners, reaffirmed its commitment to humanity and community upliftment through a heartfelt donation to the Mephibosheth Training Centre. Under the club’s annual Christmas outreach initiative, “Santa Ɔkamafoɔ,” members presented wheelchairs, walkers, and crutches to children living with cerebral palsy.
The visit was more than a donation; it was a moment of connection, compassion, and shared joy. Club members spent quality time with the children at the centre, listening to their stories, encouraging them, and celebrating their resilience. The atmosphere was filled with warmth as beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the life-changing support. The children, in turn, further expressed their appreciation through a carols service.
The Mephibosheth Training Centre, known for its dedication to empowering persons with disabilities, welcomed the gesture as a timely intervention. The mobility aids will significantly enhance the independence, confidence, and daily comfort of the beneficiaries, many of whom rely on such equipment to access education, training, and social activities.
Speaking during the presentation, the President of the Rotary Club of Accra-Teshie Nungua, Rotarian Palmas Tsyokplo, emphasised that the cerebral palsy intervention is part of our broader Ɔkamafoɔ project, an advocacy and support programme for persons living with cerebral palsy and mental health conditions. This project reflects Rotary’s core values—service, dignity, and hope. He highlighted the club’s ongoing mission to support vulnerable groups and create sustainable impact within identified communities.
Indeed, Santa Ɔkamafoɔ delivered more than gifts—it delivered hope. Partners include the Rotary clubs of Accra East, Accra Airport East, Accra Airport Enclave, Accra Labone, Akosombo, and the Rotaract club of Accra Teshie Nungua. Others include Mission 195 and ABE Ventures.
