The Power of Partnership: Hewale 3.0 Delivers Healthcare to the people of Tema
On 30 August 2025, Tema Community 1 Main Station was transformed into a hub of healing and hope. The Rotaract Club of Tema Meridian, in a powerful display of unity and service, led the third annual Hewale (a Ga word for health) health screening event.
The day was a testament to the incredible impact that can be achieved through partnership. Under the Tema sun, a coalition of 18 service clubs worked side-by-side, providing essential health checks to the community. This impressive group included four Rotary clubs, ten Rotaract clubs from across Ghana, two Leo clubs, and one Lion club.
Together, these dedicated volunteers provided essential screenings, including blood pressure and blood sugar tests, along with general medical consultations. Their relentless efforts impacted over 200 families, vendors, and individuals, offering a vital safety net of proactive healthcare for the Tema community.
For three consecutive years, the Hewale project has grown in both scale and importance, demonstrating itself as a highly impactful and sustainable initiative. The success of Hewale 3.0 highlights the collective strength of service organisations when they unite for a common cause.
The Rotaract Club of Tema Meridian and their partners have once again shown the true spirit of service above self.
